About the Microsoft 365 Admin Concepts Course

Microsoft 365 Admin Concepts is an Information Technology course designed to help students understand how Microsoft 365 environments are organized, managed, secured, and supported. Through practical administration concepts, students build the confidence to work with tenants, users, roles, services, security settings, compliance tools, and operational workflows in a modern cloud productivity platform.

Build Core Microsoft 365 Administration Skills

  • Learn Core administration skills for managing users, security, services, and governance in Microsoft 365.
  • Understand Microsoft 365 tenants, subscriptions, admin centers, roles, permissions, and delegated access.
  • Explore identity, licensing, authentication, MFA, Conditional Access, and sign-in security concepts.
  • Develop practical support skills for monitoring, service health, audit logs, change management, and troubleshooting.

This course introduces the essential Microsoft 365 Admin Concepts needed to support secure, well-governed cloud services in Information Technology environments.

Students begin with the foundations of Microsoft 365 administration, including the administrator role, tenant structure, subscriptions, service architecture, and the admin interfaces used to manage the platform. These lessons provide a clear framework for understanding how Microsoft 365 is organized and how administrators make informed decisions across connected services.

The course then focuses on identity and access management, covering user account lifecycle management, groups, Teams, directory objects, licensing strategies, authentication, MFA, Conditional Access, and access control principles. Students learn how these concepts work together to support secure access, efficient service assignment, and responsible administration across an organization.

Core Microsoft 365 services are also covered, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams administration. Students gain a practical understanding of collaboration controls, sharing settings, service management, and the administrative choices that affect productivity, security, and governance.

Security, compliance, and operations lessons introduce Security Defaults, Microsoft Defender concepts, Secure Score, retention, information protection, audit logs, reports, administrative monitoring, Service Health, Message Center, and common troubleshooting scenarios. By the end of the course, students will be better prepared to apply Microsoft 365 Admin Concepts in real Information Technology roles and contribute to a more secure, reliable, and well-managed Microsoft 365 environment.
