This course begins with a focused refresh of core German structures, including main clause word order and the foundations needed for intermediate study. From there, you will learn how to talk about past experiences using the perfect tense, choose between haben and sein, and apply verb patterns such as separable verbs, inseparable verbs, and modal verbs for plans, needs, and advice.

You will also strengthen your command of German cases and prepositions, with practical lessons on the dative case, two-way prepositions, and accusative and dative personal pronouns. As your sentences become more detailed, you will practice adjective endings, comparatives, superlatives, subordinate clauses with weil, dass, and wenn, time expressions, and future plans.
