About this lesson

Change management is the discipline of helping people, teams, and organizations move from a current state to a desired future state with minimal disruption and maximum adoption. In this opening lesson, learners will define what change management is, why it matters to business performance, and how it differs from project management and general leadership.

The lesson also introduces the human side of change: uncertainty, resistance, communication, trust, and the need for visible sponsorship. By the end, learners should be able to explain why change efforts succeed or fail, recognize common sources of resistance, and identify the basic conditions needed for a change to take hold.
