About this lesson

In this lesson, Professor Chloe Vincent introduces ChatGPT as a practical writing partner rather than a replacement for the writer. Students learn what the tool is useful for, where human judgment remains essential, and how to think about collaboration across planning, drafting, revising, and polishing.

The lesson focuses on mindset and workflow foundations: treating ChatGPT as a responsive assistant, giving it context, reviewing its output critically, protecting originality, and using it to strengthen decisions the writer still owns. Later lessons will go deeper into prompt design, outlining, drafting, revision, editing, and publication-ready polish.
