About this lesson

Ethical leadership is more than following rules or avoiding misconduct. It is the consistent use of values, judgement, and accountability to make decisions that protect people, serve the organisation, and build trust over time.

In this lesson, you will define ethical leadership in practical terms, distinguish it from compliance and personal morality, and see why character alone is not enough without sound decision-making, transparency, and the courage to act under pressure.

You will also examine the core expectations of an ethical leader: setting standards, modelling behaviour, weighing stakeholder impact, and creating conditions where others can speak up and do the right thing.
