About this lesson

This lesson helps founders recognize the difference between being busy and being truly ready to hire. You will learn how to identify durable workload, revenue or funding support, role clarity, and operational readiness before adding your first employee.

The goal is to avoid two common mistakes: hiring too early because the founder feels overwhelmed, and hiring too late because the founder keeps absorbing work that should become a real function. By the end, you will have a practical decision framework for deciding whether the next step is a hire, a contractor, a better process, or simply clearer prioritization.
