About this lesson

This lesson explains how interviews work so learners can enter the process with realistic expectations and less anxiety. It covers the stages most employers use, who is involved in decisions, why interview formats vary, and what interviewers are usually trying to learn at each step.

By the end of the lesson, learners will understand the hiring process from application review through final decision, know what happens in screening, phone, virtual, and panel interviews, and recognize the difference between interview performance and the full hiring decision.
