About this lesson

This lesson explains what information technology does inside organisations: it helps people communicate, store and move information, automate routine work, support decisions, and keep services available. Learners will see IT as a business enabler rather than just a set of devices or apps.

The lesson also introduces the main ways IT creates value: by improving speed, accuracy, consistency, visibility, scalability, and control. It closes by showing how IT supports different parts of an organisation, from frontline teams to management, and why good IT thinking starts with business needs.
