About this lesson

In this lesson, students get comfortable with the Microsoft Word workspace before creating more advanced documents later in the course. The focus is on knowing where key tools live, how Word organizes commands, and how to move confidently through a document without feeling lost.

Students will learn the purpose of the ribbon, tabs, document canvas, status bar, navigation tools, view options, and basic file commands. By the end, they should be able to open Word, identify the main parts of the interface, adjust the view for comfortable work, and understand which features are worth mastering first.
